    Challenge

How to Foster a High-Performance Culture?

In order to maintain and build high-performing teams and to ensure that individual employees feel psychological safety and wellbeing, Meru Health wanted to achieve two things:

    1) Get better feedback from employees more frequently, so leaders can address any potential issues fast.

Meru Health wanted a solution that would integrate with their existing tech stack (especially Slack) and would allow employees to answer quickly and on a recurring basis. This means they also needed something that was simple for the employees to use - so they did not want tools that used long forms or complex surveys.

"We wanted to understand our people and their challenges better so we were on the lookout for a solution that would enable us to easily, on a recurring basis, understand what is really going on with our employees. Teamspective let us do exactly that.” - Kristian Ranta, CEO & Founder of Meru Health.

    2) Verify whether individuals interact directly across teams, instead of through team leads, to maximize execution speed.

Meru Health wasn’t sure how well people and different parts of the organization were communicating with each other. They were getting feedback on this from team leads, but this kind of feedback was hard to quantify and it wasn’t easy to identify potential bottlenecks.

It is crucial for Meru Health that teams are nimble. It requires that individuals take action fast and directly go to others for the help they need as this considerably speeds up the work. The company wanted to verify if they were successfully getting people to interact directly across teams, instead of going through team leads, so that action was not being slowed down unnecessarily. To solve both of these challenges, Meru Health decided to partner with Teamspective.

    Solution

Survey and Network Analysis Tools That Build a Deeper Understanding of the Organization

In order to better understand their organization and employees, Meru Health adopted Teamspective’s Pulse Engagement Survey and Organizational Network Analysis (ONA) solutions.

Combining survey and collaboration data reveals accurate insights about teams

Teamspective’s Pulse solution was integrated with Slack for ease of use, enabling Meru Health to collect bi-weekly feedback from employees. The frequent feedback is analyzed in the leadership team and allows leadership to monitor emerging issues, gather insights from freeform feedback, and identify trends needed addressing. Pulse Surveys now provide a window into how employees experience their work, revealing valuable data on the work environment, engagement levels, and areas requiring improvement.

Complementing the Pulse Survey, Organizational Network Analysis offered deep insights into the collaboration patterns at Meru Health. By analyzing how employees interact across the organization – especially across teams. Meru Health now has a clear picture of communication flows, they’ve identified key connectors, and can pinpoint areas where collaboration between employees or teams could be further improved.

All these accurate insights provide Meru a detailed understanding of how they can improve team performance, organization’s speed and employee engagement.

”I would strongly recommend Teamspective to any company focused on building high-performance teams. Companies interested in understanding how their people work together, and how their organizational culture is developing can benefit immensely from using Teamspective.”
